Kay Road Elementary school opened its doors in Ft. Valley in the Fall of 2009 with a little over 500 students in the old Hunt Primary Building. KRES drew its students from Hunt Primary, Byron Elementary and Hunt Elementary Schools. On May 4, 2010 we moved to our new building at 880 Kay Road in Byron, GA. Willie Mangham, a fifth grader at Kay Road Elementary designed our school mascot, the Hawk. Our students voted silver & royal blue as our school colors. Our first principal was Miss Wanda Stewart.
