2011-2012 Recycling Results...

WOW!  KRES you are the greatest!  As a school we placed #66 out of 618 schools across America in the Pepsico "Recycle Rally".  For our first year collecting bottles and cans you out did yourselves.  Thank you all, parents, teachers, and students for helping KRES make a difference in our community and world!  We collected 75,658 bottles and cans, an average of 117 bottles and cans per students.  As a reward we will be receiving $150 gift card from Lowes for our school.

For our Terracycle Recycling items:  juice pouches (12,422 collected), old cell phones (18 collected), chip bags (6,005 collected), candy wrappers (1,525 collected); toothpaste tubes, brushes, and packaging (585 collected); Personal Care items (1360 collected) , glue sticks and more, we will be receiving a check for $250 in June (Total of $478.00 received from Terracycle).

History Snapshot of Our School

Kay Road Elementary opened on May 3, 2010 at 880 Kay Road in Byron. Prior to May 3rd, Kay Road students were housed at the former Hunt Primary School while construction was completed at the new facility. Kay Road Elementary School was named after Dr. Ferdinand Kay. Wanda Stewart was named the first principal of Kay Road.
